Family Run Island Accommodations
A collection of homes just a short walk from town, Block Island Accommodations can accommodate the couple looking for a romantic getaway, a family for their annual summer vacation, or a multi- generational family reunion and everything in between!
The main inn, the Bellevue House was built in 1882 and has been operating as an inn for nearly 140 years. All of the other homes were subsequently built as the years went on for the families that ran the inns to live in, with the newest, the Windrose being built in 1992. Extensive renovations have been made to all of the buildings.
After vacationing on Block Island as a child, I, Cariona Davis, owner, made it my summer home in 2002. Since then I spent most of the year on Block Island, wintering with my family in London, England. After meeting my husband, Omorow we spent winters in his home country of tiny islands, St Vincent & the Grenadines, and summers here. Island life has always drawn me in since a young age and is all my husband knows. Now that our son, PJ is in school, and our recent addition to our family, Ellington, we are year- round residents~ but escape to Europe and the islands whenever possible!
As most people want to know… how did I end up on Block Island? While my family vacationed here, we never had property, just a love for the beautiful beaches and small community. I graduated high school early and quickly moved from a summer position as front desk to manager at the Bellevue House. Spending winters traveling and visiting family and friends abroad, I always came home to Block Island. In 2007, knowing I couldn’t leave the island life, I started a boutique hotel and bed and breakfast management firm, Block Island Accommodations. Since then I have managed a number of properties and look forward to moving my hotel management skills into the Real Estate world after getting my license in early 2019.
Over the years I have been very active in Block Island’s tight-knit Community. I served time on the board of the Block Island Chamber of Commerce, was on the Taste of Block Island Committee, the Old Harbor Task Force, the board of the Lions Club and the BIVFD Ladies Auxiliary. In March of 2012 I won the Southern Rhode Island, 40 Under 40 Award, honoring me for my entrepreneurial skills and dedication to the Block Island Community.
I love welcoming new property owners to the Block Island community, turning clients and guests into long- term friends and helping those new to the island adjust to the ‘island life’. I work hard, have fun, and value my relationships with my clients and guests.
Look forward to seeing you on- island!
